Covid-19 is a rising concern in Africa; Africa has 23% of global disease burden but only 1% global health expenditure. Covid-19 was slow to reach Africa but food supplies have decreased and is impacting low-income countries, many in sub-Saharan Africa. Countries who are experiencing Global Food Security are suffering from extreme malnutrition and lack of food services. In 2019, 135 million people in 55 countries face food insecurity and require urgent action.
